Life Talk Devotion 05/09/2023 –
Do Not Forget:
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come. Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Hebrews 13:12-16 NKJV
The writer of Hebrews reminds those who are believers in Christ that we have been set free being sanctified by the blood of Jesus. In that freedom our focus can now be offering the sacrifice of praise to God instead of bearing the guilt and burden of our own sin. To those set free in Christ, praise and doing good is now the sacrifice God is pleased with.
TRUTH MATTERS – The heart of true faith is rooted in and guided by truth; truth established by God through the essence of His nature and His Word. Without His truth as revealed in the Bible, man can only stumble in his effort to know Him and be redeemed by Him. M.P. Bramble
